  • 240 ml whole wheat flour1.01 cup whole wheat flour
  • 10 ml baking powder2.03 tsp baking powder
  • 120 ml milk8.12 tbsp milk
  • 2 each egg
  • 30 ml butter, melted2.03 tbsp butter, melted
  • 15 ml maple syrup1.01 tbsp maple syrup
  • 5 ml vanilla extract1.01 tsp vanilla extract
  • 120 ml plain greek yogurt8.12 tbsp plain greek yogurt
  • salt (to taste), for over-1s and adults only

Steps

Make the Batter

  1. Whisk the flour and baking powder together in a medium bowl until evenly combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, eggs, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and yogurt until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined, leaving a few small lumps.

Cook the Pancakes

  1. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium-low heat until a drop of water sizzles gently on the surface.
  2. Pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of batter per pancake onto the pan, leaving a little space between each one.
  3. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until small bubbles appear across the surface, then flip and cook 2 minutes more until golden.
  4. If the batter thickens between batches, stir in a tablespoon of milk at a time to loosen it back to a pourable consistency.
  5. Transfer cooked pancakes to a rack and repeat with the remaining batter. For over-1s and adults, add a pinch of salt to the batter to taste.
