Tips by age

6-8mo

Blend completely smooth and strain out the seeds for a silky texture. Thin with a little breast milk or formula if needed. Offer on a pre-loaded spoon.

Choking safety: Strain to remove all seeds and ensure the puree is fully smooth with no fibrous strands.

9-11mo

Leave the puree slightly thicker and a bit textured to encourage spoon practice. Seeds can be left in if your baby is comfortable with soft textures.

Choking safety: Ensure there are no firm pieces of core or skin left in the puree.

12-18mo

Serve as a soft puree, or offer peeled ripe kiwi cut into small bite-size pieces for self-feeding alongside.

Choking safety: Cut any whole kiwi pieces small and ensure the fruit is ripe and soft to bite through easily.
