Tips by age

6-8mo

Blend completely smooth and thin with a little water, breast milk, or formula to a soft, spoonable puree. Offer a small amount on a pre-loaded spoon.

Choking safety: Make sure there are no lumps of tofu or pear; the texture should be fully smooth at this stage.

9-11mo

Leave the puree slightly thicker with a soft texture to encourage spoon practice. You can also offer it as a thick scoop the baby can self-feed.

Choking safety: Keep the texture soft and smooth with no firm pear pieces.

12-18mo

Serve as written as a thick puree or dip. You can also spread it on soft toast fingers for self-feeding.
