Banana Oat Puree
Creamy banana and oat puree mixed with breast milk or formula for a gentle, nutritious first breakfast.

Ingredients
- 60 ml rolled oats4.06 tbsp rolled oats
- 1 medium banana, ripe
- 60 ml breast milk or iron-fortified formula4.06 tbsp breast milk or iron-fortified formula
Steps
- Combine the oats with 3/4 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat.
- Cook, stirring frequently, for 6 to 8 minutes until the oats are very soft and thick.
- Mash the banana with a fork until no lumps remain.
- Stir the mashed banana into the cooked oats until evenly combined.
- Blend or press through a fine sieve for a smooth 6 to 8 month serving, or leave softly mashed for a 9 to 11 month serving.
- Thin to the consistency you want with breast milk or formula, then serve warm after checking the temperature.
