Ingredients
- 0.25 cup rolled oat
- 1 medium banana
- 0.25 cup breast milk or iron-fortified formula
Steps
- Combine oats with 3/4 cup water in a small saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat.
- Cook, stirring frequently, for 6 to 8 minutes until oats are very soft and thick.
- Mash the banana with a fork until no lumps remain.
- Stir the mashed banana into the cooked oats.
- Blend or press through a fine sieve for a 6-8 month serving; leave softly mashed for a 9-11 month serving.
- Thin to desired consistency with breast milk or formula. Serve warm, checking the temperature before offering.
