Tips by age

6-8mo

Blend completely smooth and thin further with breast milk or formula to a pourable consistency that slides easily off a spoon.

Choking safety: Ensure the mixture is fully smooth before serving, with no intact oat pieces.

9-11mo

Leave softly mashed with small oat lumps to encourage tongue and gum practice. Offer on a pre-loaded spoon.

Choking safety: Oats should be fully softened, with no hard or dry clumps.

12-18mo

Serve as written, slightly thicker so it scoops onto a spoon. Let your toddler practice self-feeding even if it gets messy.
