Ingredients

  • 5 amla
  • 1.5 cup liquid
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 inch ginger
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 pinch pink salt
  • 15 mint leaf
  • 12 holy basil
  • 0.25 tsp chaat masala

Steps

  1. Rinse amla well under running water. Soak them in a bowl of salted water for 5 to 10 mins and scrub them with a soft vegetable brush to get rid of any dirt and deposits.
  2. Rinse well again and chop them to pieces. Add them to a grinder/blender jar with little liquid of choice (water/ coconut water/juice) & ginger, mint, tulsi if using.
  3. Grind to a smooth paste. Strain/filter this to a pitcher, pressing down with a spoon and pour the rest of the liquid. Stir in pepper, honey, salt or chaat masala as per your choice. Serve immediately.
  4. To make Shots: You will just grind only the amla and ginger (optional) without any liquid. The mixture will look slightly dry but will release all of the juices as you grind.
  5. Run your slow juicer and add up to 3 Indian gooseberries (deseeded) per serving to your juicer chute. You can also add ginger or any other fruit of choice like watermelon, apple or Asian pears.
